Class Details
Imagine your dog responding to you like one of those impressive working dogs! This course helps you and your dog develop that incredible partnership. Better still, it gives your dog an outlet for all their natural instincts - charging around in fields and bushes, following every scent and picking up 'interesting' things on walks! We show you how to harness those instincts in a way that's fun and motivating for you both. Your dog will learn to - * Come to the whistle * Stop on the whistle * Walk closely with you * Search for and retrieve objects * Stop and start on cue * Follow your directions at a distance Working in a large, airy covered barn we'll show you how to teach your dog to respond to you at a distance, focus on you and how to build their self-control. You'll learn how to teach a proper retrieve (bring your own dummy or toy) and use a dog whistle (please bring your own) for distance control. It's ideal for gundog types who have that natural drive to search and retrieve, but these are instincts shared by many other breeds too. If your dog enjoys sniffing out and carrying objects, has a reasonable recall, a good 'sit', and is able to relax around other dogs, you'll both get a lot from this course. Activities can be adapted to different needs/sizes/ages of dogs. Dogs taking part must be able to relax in the company of other dogs. If your dog is not happy around other dogs, please speak to us as there are 1-2-1 and specific options for dogs who lack confidence around other dogs. Class numbers are limited to allow us to offer everyone personal attention. The venue has a sand surface with level entry; however the approach is uneven and surface may not be suitable for all wheelchairs. Do call to discuss if you have mobility needs. Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel or defer your class, please let as know as soon as possible. Refunds cannot be made within 7 days of the start of a course. Refunds that are issued are subject to a £2.50 admin fee to cover the charges HotDog Training incurs during the booking and refund process.
